State and Local Programs

There are a number of excellent state and local trade assistance programs in our region to help you develop export sales.

International Trade Center (ITC) – The ITC is part of the South Dakota Small Business Development Center. It serves as a source of management assistance to small businesses considering exporting, new to exporting, or those with export finance packaging needs. It provides comprehensive guidance on international trade. For a pdf brochure on the ITC click here, or contact the director at rock@siouxfalls.com.

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development works closely with the South Dakota International Trade Center and the U.S. Commercial Service to help companies increase international trade opportunities. Together, they can provide research into new international markets, find qualified international buyers and distributors, promote your company at trade events around the world, and provide help through every step of the export process.

The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources is a member of the Food Export Association of the Midwest. This association offers South Dakota agricultural and food companies assistance to start or expand export sales through programs in educationmarket entry, and market promotion.
